Winemaking Philosophy
The perfect environment
Feletto comes from the Latin ``felix-icis``, a place where ferns are plentiful; in fact, the area was once covered with woodland full of ferns and tall trees which were felled and used by the Venetian Arsenal. There was, however, plenty of land dedicated to the cultivation of olive groves and vineyards, and even the Doge of Venice, Francesco Foscari, mentioned the “good wine of Feletto” in an epistle in 1431.
Today the hills around the Moretvini estate are still farmed by man with great respect for the area, which is well-known for its natural landscape, good food and exceptional Prosecco DOCG. Moretvini lies along the famous Strada del Prosecco (Prosecco Road) in an area with many cultural and artistic treasures to explore, experience and enjoy.
Culture and History
Every period in history has left an indelible mark on the area over the years, with events which have merged to produce a wealth of art and culture. The Treviso March enjoyed a glorious past and has given us some wonderful stories, architectures and works of art; unexpected paradises and treasures to discover. The area offers a wealth of history and culture that is shared by all those who are lucky enough to live in the land of the Joyous and Loving March, as it is called.
The Prosecco Road
The new Prosecco and Wines of the Hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Road, established in 2003, is the direct successor of what was, in 1966, the first Italian wine route. Large sections of the original route have been included, while new thematic routes have been added so visitors can enjoy the whole area, its wine-growing landscapes and its many historical and artistic attractions that are dotted along the hills between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
